RE: jayfeather vs. outback

yes it really matters!!! what the heck, i could drive a bentley instead of my subaru....im just trying to get some feed back... i know about a good time ,thanks for your input. IMO feedback should come before deposit. If you get 100 people on here that tell you the salesman was wrong what will that change?

RE: Roo Slide Leak

For half the price you could have a slide awning installed. That wouldn't fix the problem, but it may solve it.

RE: Slideout Awning

I am 100% happy we went with one and would do it again in a heartbeat. On several occasions I looked up there to see a heap of pine needles, leaves, or sticks piled up - everything rolls right off as the slide is pulled in.

RE: Picking up Roo 23SS on Valentines Day

C:\Documents and Settings\Todd\My Documents\My Pictures\Roo Pics\Picking Up the Roo Ok, first thing you have to understand is that you can't post pictures here directly from your computer. You're going to have to open an account at a free picture hosting site such as photobbucket or webshots. I personally use webshots because when they first started, they were one of the only sites that claimed to keep your pictures on there for life whereas others would delete them after so long. 1. If you choose webshots, click on "sign up for free" in the upper right hand corner and register. 2. Click on "Upload Now" 3. Click on "Add files" and find your picture (you can select more than one at a time if you'd like by holding ctrl) 4. After uploading your pix, click on the picture you'd like to post 5. on the right hand side of the page there is a box that says "link to this picture" - in that box first select 600 (it's set at 100 now) 6. highlight and copy the text from the "post in a forum" box 7. Open a seperate internet browser page and go to the rv.net forum and paste text into your message box 8. hit the magnifyning glass icon to preview 9. post the message Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the forum!

RE: Hybrids at nice "luxury" RV parks

Dan at a place like that I feel weird just because we're "different" and because we stick out. We often camp with my inlaws at state parks around here. They stick out with their 40' dp and get all sorts of looks and they're the ones that feel out of place. BTW, whenever more family comes along, they aren't staying in the MH - it's our HTT that has the more spacious feeling and bigger beds(;

RE: Feedback wanted on Rockwood Roo 232

Talking to the dealers at the RV show, this HTT is starting to sell faster than both the 23ss and 21ss. This was the first time I was able to see one in person and I have to say I was extremely impressed.

RE: Pictures of Jayco 21M (2009)

Here's another link to some pictures. Another with more pix Thanks mwebber - been waiting to see these - can't wait to see the 23J now! Wow, those look like some THICK mattresses! Were they always that way or is that new for 2009?

RE: Roo 2009 hot water heater dsi

yeah, what he said... when you're done filling the fresh tank open the kitchen warm side and let it run until it stops sputtering to make sure the wh has water in it... then go back outside and top the fresh tank off

RE: How old are your tires really?

I buy my tires (Cdn. Tire) at places that have a very high turn over, so I don't get stuck with something that's been sitting around for a couple of years. It's interesting becasue a couple of the places that were selling older tires in the video were Walmart and Sears - two chains that I would think would have a quick turnaround.

How old are your tires really?

Ok, I debated a few minutes whether this was the right forum for this topic, so if should be moved I'm all for it. Anyhow... I received an email with a link to this news story about how old tires can be that you purchase brand new. In other words, you buy a tire from the local tire place thinking it was recently produced when really it could have been made years ago. I'm sure many people already knew about this, but I'm one of the guys that has to trust the mechanics and the people behind the counter. Figured there were several out there like me that would like this info(:

RE: The black water tank is empty! NOT 2/3 full

We have the tornado which keeps the sensors clean. If people are lined up at the dump station I'll only run it once which is great but doesn't have the same effect as when I can spray it down 2 or 3 times.

RE: RV Cover for 23SS

We have the ADCO cover - got it as a gift. It does what it's supposed to and we're happy with the results. Make sure you measure carefully... I guesstimated and it's a lil too big.

RE: new member intro

thanks again everyone, and we will keep the Bainbridge event on our calendar. Derek, thanks for the suggestion on the Tornado. good advice! are there any concerns about drilling a hole in the tank? seems like a pretty permanent modification if something goes wrong down the line. :-) but I like the idea of doing it now when everything is clean. jt I would make sure the plastic circle that you cut out doesn't end up in the tank. On that note, there are a couple people (me included) that had to fish the hole saw out - thank God it was a clean tank! I think I've only read one or two accounts of the tornado not working properly - company sent them a new one right away. Test it first with a garden hose is some good advice I found here. Definitely a permenant mod, but if you really needed to, I bet there is a way to patch her up.

RE: Thanks Chuck

The greatest thing about this site is the number of knowledgeable campers that visit regularly. I've yet to start a thread or see a thread that didn't get a responce within an hour. There are plenty of forums available out there - this is the only one I return to and count on.

RE: Starting the search and compromise!

In my opinion, having to go outside to open/close the windows on the Aerolite is a deal breaker. We often go to sleep with them open and close them in the middle of the night when it gets a bit chilly. I wouldn't bother renting. Unless you rent the same unit/floorplan you plan on purchasing it doesn't make much sense to me. Kick the shoes off at the RV show and get up on the beds, sit on the throne, stand up in the shower, and sit at the dinette to get a better feel for the HTT. Camping with full hookups at a place with cement pads and a pool seems to be the least stressful for a newbie. Maybe try a couple weekends at these places first to get everyone used to the experience. The list of essential camping accessories varies from family to family. You can get a pretty good idea of what you'll need after a night in camp driveway. Besides the things mentioned in other posts, I would make sure to remember skewers for marshmallows, a long grill lighter, a deck of cards, and a pair of scissors (all things I forgot our first trip ; )

RE: Napanee to Mackinac..looking for good spots to stay

I don't know where Highway 2 is -- there is Highway 22 up there though that has some beautiful scenery and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Ludington SP is nice, but from what I remember there weren't too many big sites - a few pull throughs though. PJ Hoffmaster SP is one of our favorites.

Detroit to Nova Scotia

Looking at some pix recently of Nova Scotia and I'm convinced we HAVE to get out there - absolutely gorgeous! Anyhow, we would likely head through Canada there and then through the states on the way home. Given 2 weeks, where would you stop/stay?

RE: new member intro

Welcome and Congrats Jim! I'd look into getting a Tornado installed on that clean black tank - best to get it done BEFORE the first use(: If for some reason your HTT didn't come with a fully stocked refridgerator, I suggest grabbing a case of cold ones right away for it! It's not really camping w/o them lol(:
